After a hiatus of 10 months did my first trek this monsoon and the first in 2015. It was a trek to Visapur fort on Saturday. A large fort, with a vast plateau on the top, uninhabited and neglected. Not much is known about the history of this fort. We ascended with a 4 kms walk from Malavli station and descended towards Paatan village. Lost our way twice while descending and reached dead ends or a free fall at the waterfall while descending through it. But thankfully the previous experience came handy and found our way the third time. An eventful day in the wild though and it was a great trek to do after a long time. Feeling fit, healthy and happy. Vishwaa is back in business.

Rajmachi Trek (050715)
It was an exciting trek to Rajmachi on Sunday. We started from Kondhivade village in Karjat, ascended to Udhewadi, Rajmachi via Kondane caves. Then trekked to one of the twin forts that is Shrivardhan. Had a sumptous meal at Bandu@Khandu Umbre's house in Rajmachi village. After which started our walk towards Lonavala station at 5 pm. We reached Lonavala station at dot 8 : 30 pm in which we covered 17 kms through the wild. We have taken endurance to a different level with 3.5 ...hours of non stop walking where we did not pause for a single moment. In fact the last 500 metres were almost a sprint. It was gr8 to know that though I do not look fit my body can work wonders in any adverse situation. Yesterday's trek could be considered a summer trek with rains coming in for just 5 mins in an otherwise hot and humid conditions. We completed 30 kms approx on foot in one day in testing conditions and not considering the 4 hrs of train travel. Endurance tested all fine. All set for big treks now.
Sinhagad trek (180715 )
It was a trek to Sinhagad on Saturday with good old friends. It was done at a leisurely pace with rain playing hide and seek. I had a good time with friends though and not to forget the tasty sweet corn, bhaji and curd on the top.
