Finally caught up with " Chennai Express " - A movie that broke most of the records in it's first 4 days in terms of business, collection, 100 crore club etc. It has been marketed as a romantic action movie but there is only drama. The romance and action is in patches. There nothing great about the script but the screenplay and direction is good. It also involves slapstick comedy similar to Rohit Shetty movies. Shahrukh Khan has done a better job than his last two movies. He has tried his best despite his age but it is not his fault. He does monkeying around and forcefully tries to act funny. On a serious note he is a misfit in the script. But the last 10 minutes belong entirely to him. Even Salman or Aamir would not have been able to do justice to this role. It may have suited Ranbir, Shahid or even Saif Ali Khan better. Why to watch this movie ? Watch it for Deepika Padukone who is the hero of this movie and for Rohit Shetty's directorial skills. If you like the Golmaal series you'll definitely like this. Deepika has aptly carried this movie entirely on her shoulders. She is definitely the forerunner for the Best Actress award this year. Her accentuated Hindi is too good. If you didn't fall in love with her after watching YJHD you'll surely do that after watching this one. The songs have also become chart busters. The picturesque locales are a plus. There is a lot of criticism about Shahrukh and I being his critic would still say watch it once. If you have not watched it yet. Just keep your brain at home, ignore Shahrukh's bad acting, focus on Deepika and you will enjoy the movie.

Movie Review - Once Upon a time in Mumbai Doobara
First Day First Show - " Once Upon a time in Mumbai Doobara " - If you are expecting the same treatment as the prequel you are in for disappointment. As the sequel is not a gangster plot or action but a romantic drama. The Don is shown as a lover who is crazy for love. Anytime the first part is better which had superb acting by Ajay Devgan and Emran Hashmi. In fact Emran Hashmi could have done justice to Akshay's role. Imran is just ok. Despite being a criminal he has that cool chocolate boy image. Sonakshi Sinha has done justice to her role as a bimbo. There are some good dialogues and there is not much action. There is nothing much to say about the songs. The script fails to do justice to the screenplay. Watch it only if you must.
Movie Review - The Conjuring
Watched " The Conjuring " - A movie in the horror genre which has been in the news off late and has been well received by the audience. It comes from the hit director James Wan who has previously directed SAW and INSIDIOUS. The plot involves a haunted house and exorcism. It is scary in parts and the fact that it is based on true incidents gives it more credibility. A good one time watch.

Movie review - Duniyadari
Watched " Duniyadari "- A hit movie right from the script. It is very well made, given the retro look from the 70s and 80s. Based on a Marathi novel by the same name written by Suhas Shirwalkar makes for a gripping plot and fast paced screenplay. The cast includes Swapnil Joshi, Sai Tamhankar, Ankush Chaudhary, Jitendra Joshi, Urmila Kanitkar and others. The songs are already a huge hit specially the romantic number Tik Tik Vajate Dokyat. This movie has everything you could expect in a movie made in the yesteryears. It has drama, action, friendship, romance, twists and turns. Sanjay Jadhav’s direction is a plus for the movie. A must watch for the Marathi speaking public specially Punekars. Marathi cinema is seeing such a nice movie after a long time and it is currently running to packed houses in multiplexes. Don’t miss it.
Movie review - Time Please
Watched " Time Please " - Finally got time to catch up with a Marathi movie after a good 2 months. It is based on the hit Marathi play Nava Gadi Nava Rajya. It's cast includes real life couple Priya Bapat and Umesh Kamat along with Siddharth Jadhav and Sai Tamhankar. It talks about conflicts between married couples in day to day life. How the understanding and logic factor needs to be given importance while dealing with marital issues and not to take any decision or assume anything in haste. It can't be called a romantic movie and has some funny scenes and some drama added to the plot. A must watch and highly recommended for people who are to marry soon or are recently married. Overall makes good for family viewing.
Movie Review - The Wolverine
Watched " The Wolverine " - Hugh Jackman is back. This edition takes you through a Japanese safari. There is nothing great about the plot. A story of lust for power, strength and immortality. Hugh Jackman is taken for a ride in Japan by creating a false story and how he gets lost in a false plot. Hugh Jackman fans would like it.

Movie Review - Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
Watched " Bhaag Milkha Bhaag " - It is a biopic on one of the greatest athletes of India - Milkha Singh aka Flying Sikh. A story of grit, determination, perseverance and sheer will power to excel. It is about a person who went through the haunting past of the India - Pakistan partition, poverty, being a vagabond, losing an Olympics medal by the fraction of a second to being India's Ace runner, a world record holder and a recipient of the Padmashri award. Milkha Singh's character seems to be tailor made for Farhan Akhtar. You just can imagine anyone else in that role. The attitude, looks, mannerisms, body language is just perfect. Farhan could surely be Bollywood's next perfectionist after Aamir Khan. Sonam Kapoor's performance is worth the Rs 11 that she took as her fee. Cricketer Yuvraj Singh's father Yograj Singh as Milkha's Team India coach, Pawan Malhotra as the Army coach, Prakashraj as Parade leader and Divya Dutta as Milkha's sister have given notable performances. The songs are hummable too. The nutty Sardar with his six pack body will win your heart. The movie is 3 hours 8 minutes long and go for it only if you like biopics or offbeat movies. One of the best biopics to be made in recent years and it definitely puts Farhan Akhtar in the race for the Best Actor award this year.

Movie Review - Ghanchakkar
Watched " Ghanchakkar " - A small budget suspense movie starring Vidya Balan and Emran Hashmi. They make for a good pair but not sure what made them accept this film. It would suit better as a tele film on TV. The script does not offer much scope for the acting skills of the lead actors. It's about a man who has a memory loss and forgets everything about a bag of money. There's nothing bad about this movie but nothing great either. Watch it only if you must.

Movie Review - Raanjhana
Watched " Raanjhana " - An incomplete Hindu - Muslim love story (so called ) . The frail looking Kolaveri Di star Dhanush is impressive throughout, especially in the first half. This guy surely has talent. The dialogue delivery is a mismatch at times. Like always Sonam Kapoor can only giggle and show attitude. The first half is promising with well choreographed scenes, songs and dialogues. The 2nd half makes you lose your interest in the plot. Abhay Deol has a role too but nothing big about it. It would be foolish to call this a love story as there is no understanding of love between the two. It is more of a begaane shaadi mein abdulla deewaana kind of story. Watch this movie for Dhanush. Don't go by his looks and he will definitely win your heart.

Movie Review - Zapatlela -2 3D
Finally got time to watch " Zapatlela -2 3D " - It is a first sequel in Marathi cinema and the first Marathi movie in 3D. The 3D effects are a treat to watch and better than any Bollywood movie. The story and plot could have been better. Tatya Vinchu the doll possessed by an evil soul is the dude. Adinath Kothare and Sonalee make for a cute pairing. A couple of songs are hummable. All the characters have done a decent role. The suspense factor is missing unlike the first part and also a vital person is badly missed. Our very own Lakshya aka Laxmikant Berde. Any time I would prefer to watch the first part than the sequel. I makes for a good watch but don't have high expectations.
Movie Review - Fukrey
Watched " FUKREY " - A story about 4 losers who are in need of money. A north indian setting , 2 junior college students, one musician and one correspondence student. Their need for money leaves them to the mercy of a lady don called Bholi Punjaban, played by Richa Chadda of GOW- 1. There are some funny moments and overall it makes for a good watch.

Movie Review - Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani
Watched " Yeh Jawani hai Deewani " - Ranbir Kapoor the superstar delivers a third hit in a row. The cool dude, a flirt, a playboy who cares a damn about life and does not believe in love. Deepika Padukone too has a meaty role and manages to win your heart with her simplicity, grace and charisma. A nerd and a chasmis. Something similar to Om Shanti Om. Aashiqui -2 dude Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin show some spark too. In short a fun movie about a guy who is full of life loves trekking and wants to go to places all over the world and more importantly follows his dreams without caring about anything or anyone. A full on entertainer right from the word go. My trekker friends would like this movie as the first half involves a trek to Manali. Just when the movie begins the ever ravishing, beautiful Madhuri Dixit - Nenemakes you go weak in your knees with her matkas and jhatkas in the item number Ghagra. It is a treat to watch Ranbir match steps with her in the song. Please do watch and enjoy it with friends and family.

Movie Review - Go Goa Gone
Watched " Go Goa Gone" - It is said to be Bollywood's first zombie movie and rightly so. Produced by Saif Ali Khan's home banner Illuminati Films, it is another movie that revolves around night parties, drugs and shows Goa in a bad light. The plot shown is true to a certain extent and the rest is fantasy. It will definitely not please the Russians staying in Goa and the Goan government. Something new for the viewers and must say the plot is really good. With all the bloodshed shown it can be also classified as a horror movie. Folks who go for rave parties and indulge in heroin, opium, mdm, ecstasy please watch it. Good job Saif, you surely need a pat on your back for your effort. The script is the USP of this movie. It also has a social message that Drugs can make you a Zombie.

Movie Review - Shootout at Wadala
Watched " Shootout at Wadala " - A well made movie based on the real life encounter which took place between the first Hindu Don of Mumbai Manohar Surve and the Mumbai police at Wadala in 1982 and Ekta Kapoor along with Sanjay Gupta are back in action. John Abraham's best performance till date and the character of Manya Surve seems to be perfect for him. A multi starrer cast which includes Tusshar Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Mahesh Manjrekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Sonu Sood, Kangana Ranaut etc. If you loved Shootout at Lokhandwala, you will definitely love this. Three item songs by Sunny Leone, Priyanka Chopra and Sophie Chowdhury add to the glamour quotient. Kangana is just ok and has exposed a bit. Not to be watched with kids and family due to some graphic presentation of intimate scenes.

Movie Review - Aashiqui 2
Watched " Aashiqui 2 " - A sad love story. One of the most hyped movies in 20013 starring Aaditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles. The plot involves an alcohol addict yesteryears rockstar who is hell bent on destroying his career and life and a plain Jane, girl next door who is willing to do anything which includes sacrificing her high fledged career for her love. The first half is well made and gives you the impression of a superhit movie but alas there is nothing feel good about the second half. The movie ends on a negative note. The songs are a hit. Shraddha Kapoor has succeeded in recreating the magic created by Anu Agarwal in the first part. She will make you fall in love with her character. Aaditya is just ok types. The script is a mismatch. It would have been apt for the other franchisees of the Bhatt camp movies. This movie is no where close to getting a cult status like the Rahul Roy - Anu Agarwal starrer AASHIQUI.
Movie Review - Prem Mhanje Prem Mhanje Prem Asta
Watched " Prem Mhanje Prem Mhanje Prem Asta " - A light hearted romantic Marathi drama involving married people. It marks the directorial debut of veteran actress Mrunal Kulkarni. The other cast includes Sachin Khedekar, Rahul Barve, Mohan Agashe, Suhas Joshi and Pallavi Joshi. The plot describes how people who are single after marriage long for love. A decent script but fails to do justice to the star cast. Elderly people would be able to relate to the story.

Movie Review - Ek Thi Daayan
Watched " Ek Thi Daayan " - A supernatural thriller revolving around witches. A doubtful murder in the past, a shady building and a magician are a part of the plot. Another horror story with a twist and a turn. There's nothing great about the script, screenplay or direction. Emran, Konkona, Kalki and Huma have done a decent job. This movie is scary in bits but not that impressive. It could make for a good watch this weekend.

Movie Review - COMMANDO - The One Man Army
Watched " COMMANDO - The One Man Army " - Finally Bollywood has a real action hero to boast of in the form of Vidyut Jamwal. The action sequences and stunts are just breath taking and a treat to watch. The plot involves the story of an Indian para commando who is captured by the Chinese and the events that follow after that. The action and cinematography is the USP of this movie. It has been shot in some scenic locales and picturesque forests. To speak of the other cast Jaideep Ahlawat has given a decent performance as the villain. The pretty Puneri girl and Ex Miss India Pooja Chopra adds to your viewing pleasure. There is nothing different about the story. Watch it for the sake of Vidyut Jamwal for pure undiluted action. A must watch for action lovers.

Movie Review - Chashme Baddoor
Watched " Chashme Baddoor " - A cheeky, cheesy romantic comedy and it goes by it's tagline Har ek dost kameena hota hain. Ali Zafar plays the main lead aptly supported by Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma ( Liquid from Pyar ka Punchnama ). It is a pleasure to watch Rishi Kapoor as the cool goan dude Joseph Furtado and Lilette Dubey who play's his love interest. Anupam Kher and newbie Taapsee Pannu are the additional packages. I dont think it is anywhere close to the old classic by the same name but could do for a one time watch.

Movie Review - Rangrezz
Watched " RANGREZZ " - A violent story of friendship for somebody else's love. A new concept brought in Indian cinema. The line ' Begaane shaadi mein Abdulla deewana ' perfectly fits the bill over here. As always Jackky Bhagnani is the cool dude who is ready to go to any limits for friendship. The story is about how his decision to help his friend turns into a nightmare for him and his closest buddies. A sacrifice given for a good cause all gone wrong. It's a decent performance by all the actors. It is good to see Rajpal Yadav after a long time doing what he is so good at.
