Watched " Midnight's Children " - The script is based on Salman Rushdie's book by the same name which won the Booker prize in 1981 and the Best of Booker prize in 1993 and 2008. It is well directed by Deepa Mehta of ' Earth ', ' Fire ' and ' Water ' trilogy fame. Though the book is very vast, only major aspects are taken into consideration and much light is not shed on the details as per the book. A hard hitting political drama about a Muslim family. The screenplay travels from India's colonialism, India after independence, India's war with Pakistan, the Emergency period and so on. It is aptly supported by a good narration from Salman Rushdie and cinematography. One movie which deserves critical acclaim. It is an artistic movie and not for the regular cine goers.
